Serving Up Hope
Where the benefits of tennis and education unite to unlock opportunities for underserved youth.
Our Impact
All of our participants are underserved; many are living at or below the poverty line. This is how we’re helping:
International Program
Tennis and Fitness Program
Our Advanced Tennis Training Program has 77 participants. Eight of our players now play for the Uganda National Team.
Academics and STEM
Children in the Uganda program experience a robust introduction to STEM education by learning computer literacy and foundational coding skills. We support 25 children with full-time school tuition.
Psychosocial Support Program
Leaders consistently see an emerging capacity for reflection among participants; this is a critical skill for developing empathy, social responsibility, and improved decision-making.
U.S. Program
Coach Training Program
Our program is designed to “train the trainers” so our partner locations can develop a sustainable pipeline of well-prepared staff members. Our trainers are experts who support partner staff members throughout the learning process, both on-site and virtually.
Engaging Curriculum and Equipment
Our engaging curriculum consists of three instructional manuals designed to provide guidance for tennis players and non-players alike. Starting the program is easy– we provide all the equipment needed to implement the curriculum at no cost to our partner locations.
Growing the Sport
Post-event participation surveys indicate that 85% of participants reported having fun and 70% made new friends. Notably, more than 70% expressed interest in continuing with tennis training in the future.
